I create kitchen accessories and oven to table bakeware that will enhance any domestic kitchen setting. I use stoneware clay which is high fired, this makes it all dishwasher and ovenproof so entirely practical whilst beautiful. My pieces are thrown, some are then altered. The design has evolved, removing complexity to give an overall clean and simple form.
I would like people to enjoy using handmade items, which give pleasure in how they look, but more importantly how they feel and function.
The glazes applied have a subtle palette with a variation in depth of colour accentuating the throwing lines. The intention is to enhance the overall shape of the work.
After many years of working as a potter I embarked on a UAL diploma in creative practice, I graduated with distinction in July 2023. This course has broadened my practice into sculptural form and increased my range of techniques to include saggar firing and using different clay bodies.
In 2018 my work was displayed at the New Designers exhibition where it was selected as Highly Recommended by Denby.
